Ultimate Pick-up helps players find and organize public Ultimate Frisbee pickup games. Browsing, discovery, reactions, and reports are available without creating an account. Creating, editing, cancelling, or deleting user-created games requires Sign in with Apple or Google plus a public username.
We collect data for app functionality only. We do not sell personal data, show ads, use third-party ad networks, or perform cross-app tracking.
Data we collect
- Precise Location. The app can use latitude and longitude to show nearby games, refresh the map, request backend discovery around the current area, and answer a Game Finder request. Website chat requests include the current map coordinates and are linked to the browser's anonymous actor ID so follow-up questions work without an account. Location is used only for app functionality, not advertising or tracking.
- User ID. Firebase Auth provides an account identifier when you sign in with Apple or Google. Ultimate Pick-up links that provider identity to the shared RQM account used for your username, game ownership, organizer profile, teams, tournaments, and Organizer Pro entitlement. This data is linked to your account.
- Other User Content. User-created game listings may include title, description, location notes, coordinates, schedule, recurrence, optional source details, and game-associated photos. Team and tournament content can include names, descriptions, rules, schedules, roster membership, registrations, results, Organizer Copilot proposals, and the text you type or dictate into Game Finder. Public listing content is linked to its creator account; private rosters and unpublished organizer content are not shown publicly by default. Game Finder stores a redacted conversation record in our PostgreSQL database.
- Customer Support. Anonymous in-app listing and photo reports may include a game identifier, field location, category, and details you choose to send. Support email includes the sender information you provide. We use this data only to respond to support requests and review safety, spam, privacy, account, or listing issues.
- Organizer contact information and attestations. Adult organizers provide a verified email, private legal and display names, E.164 phone number, home city/state, and adult and terms attestations. Name, email address, phone number, and home city/state are linked to the shared account and used only for app functionality. Legal and contact data is not displayed on public team or tournament pages.
- Purchase history and registration records. We retain StoreKit product, transaction, status, environment, date, and payload-hash records linked to the shared account so Organizer Pro can be granted, restored, and reconciled. We also retain provider-reported tournament payment, fee, refund, and disbursement state when paid registration is enabled. Apple and Pledge handle payment instruments; Ultimate Pick-up does not receive or store card or Apple Pay instrument data.
How information is used
- Show nearby public pickup games, map pins, game details, directions, and source references.
- Match account-free website chat and signed-in app Game Finder questions to current source-backed or user-created game listings.
- Let players mark interest or attendance without creating an account.
- Let signed-in creators publish, edit, cancel, and delete account-owned games.
- Operate account deletion, abuse prevention, rate limits, service reliability, and moderation workflows.
- Review support requests, safety reports, spam reports, and inaccurate listing reports.
- Operate private teams, adult U.S. tournaments, account-wide Organizer Pro, and provider reconciliation.
Services we use
- Firebase Auth. Firebase verifies Sign in with Apple and Google for account-owned games and organizer features. The API verifies Firebase ID tokens server-side, links them to the shared RQM account, and does not expose Firebase UIDs publicly.
- Ultimate Pick-up API. The API uses PostgreSQL persistence for accounts, usernames, games, organizer profiles, entitlements, teams, tournaments, registrations, audit records, source metadata, and moderation state. Redis wakes background work but is not the durable job record.
- OpenAI. Public listing discovery is backend-only. The Ultimate Pick-up API uses your current coordinates to select nearby candidates, then Game Finder sends the typed or on-device transcript, search window, time zone, and a bounded set of current game candidates and distances to OpenAI. It does not send your current coordinates to OpenAI. OpenAI is instructed to rank only those real listings and cannot save calendar events. Game Finder and private Organizer Copilot requests use
store: false. Shared vector stores exclude legal names, contact details, private rosters, payment data, donation records, and unpublished content. - Apple and Pledge. Apple processes Organizer Pro subscriptions. Pledge processes enabled real-world tournament registration and charity payments, including Apple Pay, and reports gross, fees, refunds, and disbursement status to the API. Pledge receives and disburses charity funds directly.
- Mapbox. The website displays maps using Mapbox. Rendering maps may require your browser to request map tiles and related assets from Mapbox.
Voice and Calendar
Game Finder voice input is transcribed on the device. Ultimate Pick-up and OpenAI receive the resulting text, not the microphone audio. When you choose Add to Calendar, iOS opens Apple's event editor with the selected listing's time and location. You review and save or cancel that event; Ultimate Pick-up does not read or send your calendar contents.
Information you provide
When you create a pickup game, the service receives your Firebase account identifier, public username, game title, description, location details, coordinates, schedule, recurrence choice, optional game photos, and related organizer actions. Organizer profiles additionally include the private contact information and attestations described above. Game listings and usernames are public so other players can find and evaluate them; legal contact information, private rosters, and unpublished proposals remain private by default.
Accounts and deletion
Ultimate Pick-up stores usernames for game ownership, but does not provide public profiles, avatars, followers, or direct messages. You can delete your account from the website header or app settings. Deleting your account removes games you created and pseudonymizes organizer profile data. Minimum entitlement, payment-event, audit, and tournament-financial records may be retained when required for reconciliation, fraud prevention, legal compliance, and safe completion or cancellation of published events. Signed-in Game Finder conversations are deleted with the account. Website guest conversations are associated with an anonymous browser actor ID rather than a Firebase account and may be retained for service operation, abuse prevention, and conversation follow-ups.
Source-backed public listings imported by Ultimate Pick-up are marked as created by UP and are not tied to a personal account, so they remain after a normal user deletes an account. Reports, moderation records, and operational records may be retained as needed for safety, abuse prevention, legal compliance, and service operation.
Local storage and anonymous participation
The app and website may store anonymous participation state, such as an app actor ID used for reactions, reports, passive discovery rate limits, one-reaction-per-occurrence behavior, and website chat continuity. This anonymous actor ID is separate from Firebase Auth and is not used for advertising or cross-site tracking.
Data not used for tracking
Ultimate Pick-up does not use collected data for third-party advertising, developer advertising or marketing, analytics, product personalization, data brokerage, or cross-app tracking. We do not intentionally collect Usage Data or Other Data for App Store privacy purposes.
